An enormous number of new viruses and variants of viruses appear every day, therefore in order to protect your computer against infection, you must regularly update your Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 databases and at least once a week you must perform a full scan of your computer using the updated databases.
You will need an Internet connection in order to download updates from Kaspersky Lab servers. By default, the application determines the Internet connection settings automatically. However, if you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, we recommend that you specify your proxy server's settings in the application.
When the application is updated, the following objects are downloaded and installed on your computer:
Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 implements an intelligent system for downloading updates; it only downloads updates for components that are enabled, which minimizes the bandwidth and time required for downloading updates. As soon as a component is enabled, the corresponding updates begin being downloaded, providing up-to-date protection.
