Requirements for VMware vCenter Server user accounts in Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 4.0 Agentless

The following VMware vCenter Server accounts are required:

  • Installation and removal of Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 4.0 Agentless requires an administrator account assigned with a system role with the following permissions:
    • Global / Licenses
    • Datastore / Allocate space
    • vApp / Import
    • Network / Assign network
    • Host / Inventory / Modify cluster
    • Host / Configuration / Virtual machine autostart configuration
    • Tasks / Create task
    • Global / Cancel task
    • Virtual machine / Configuration / Add new disk
    • Virtual machine / Interaction / Power on
    • Virtual machine / Inventory / Create new
    • Virtual machine / Interaction / Power off
    • VirtualMachine / Inventory / Remove

The user name and password of the administrator account are not saved in the application settings.

  • Running Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 4.0 Agentless and changing the configuration of SVMs requires a user account with the default ReadOnly system role. By default, the ReadOnly system role has the System.View, System.Read, and System.Anonymous permissions. The user account credentials are stored encrypted on the SVMs.
