Compilation issue of the resident protection module in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers during the update of Ubuntu 14.04.x and Ubuntu 16.04.x

While updating the following operating systems, you may experience some problems with compilation of the residence protection module of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers:

  • Ubuntu 14.04.x
  • Ubuntu 16.04.x

To eliminate the problem: 

  1. Download the kb_13487.zip  archive, which contains fixed resident protection module source code. Extract the files from the archive.
  2. Copy the kernel.tgz file into the folder /opt/kaspersky/kav4fs/src
  3. Execute the commands:

cd /opt/kaspersky/kav4fs/src
mv kernel kernel.orig
tar -zxvf ~/kernel.tgz
/opt/kaspersky/kav4fs/bin/kav4fs-setup.pl --build

The updated module will be included into the installation package of the next version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers.
