Issue when updating Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows to version Service Pack 2 in Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud

Issue

The Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud workspace only ever contains one installation package. If the user accepts the End User License Agreement for a new product version, then the installation package for the old version will no longer be available. 

The installation package for Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP1 MR3 is available to users who registered in Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud before June 26, 2017. If the user accepts the End User License Agreement, the installation package will automatically update to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP2.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP2 does not support Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. The administrator will therefore not be able to install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows on new computers in networks if they are running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.  

Solution

To install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP1 MR3 after updating the installation package, do the following:

  1. Download the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP2 installation package from within Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud 3.0.
  2. Start the installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP2 on a computer with Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.
The installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP2 will terminate with an error, but Network Agent will be installed. 
  1. Download the installation package for Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP1 MR4 in your chosen language:
  2. Install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows SP1 MR4 on a computer running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.
  3. At the activation step, select Activate later. The product will receive a license automatically.
Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are not supported for workspaces created in Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud 3.0 after June 26, 2017.
