Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition
The Anti-Virus can be uninstalled the following ways:
- locally;
- via a command prompt;
- via Kaspersky Administration Kit;
- via group policies of Active Directory.
Administration Tools can be uninstalled the following ways:
- locally;
- via a command prompt;
- via group policies of Active Directory.
LOCALLY
In order to uninstall the Anti-Virus locally:
1. Go to Start > All Programs > Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition > Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 Uninstall.
2. In the Change, repair or uninstall choose Uninstall
3. In the Additional uninstallation parameters window (if necessary) check the boxes to export the contents of the quarantine and the backup storage.
4. In the Uninstall window click the Uninstall button to uninstall the Anti-Virus.
After the Anti-Virus uninstallation the server should be restarted.
To uninstall Administration Tools locally:
1. Go to Start > All Programs > Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition > Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 Uninstall.
2. In the Change, repair or uninstall choose Uninstall
3. In the Uninstall window click the Uninstall button to uninstall the Administration Tools.
VIA COMMAND PROMPT
To uninstall the Anti-Virus via the command prompt:
msiexec /x kavws.msi [RESTOREQTN] [RESTOREBCK] [RESTOREPATH]
Additional options are needed to restore the quarantine and backup storages to a separate folder after the Anti-Virus uninstallation.
RESTOREQTN=<value> - restore the quarantine contents.
0 – delete the quarantine contents (by default).
1 – restore the objects from the quarantine to a folder defined by RESTOREPATH parameter.
RESTOREBCK=<value> - restore the backup contents.
0 - delete the backup contents (by default).
1 – restore the objects from the backup to a folder defined by RESTOREPATH parameter.
RESTOREPATH=<full_path_to_the_folder> - the target folder to restore objects from the quarantine and backup.
Anti-Virus key-file will be saved to the same folder.
The default folder is %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\KAV for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition\6.0\Uninstall
To uninstall the Administration Tools from a command prompt, run the command:
msiexec /x kavwstools.msi
VIA ACTIVE DIRECTORY GROUP POLICIES
You can uninstall the application only using the uninstallation parameters by default (quarantine and backup objects are deleted as well).
1. On the domain controller, in the console Active Directory – users and computers, open the context menu on the organizational unit of the computers on which you would like to uninstall the Anti-Virus and Administration Tools, and choose Properties.
2. In the Properties dialog window go to the Group Policy tab.
3. Right-click the group policy which was created to install the Anti-Virus and choose Edit.
4. In the Software Installation node, in the list of the installation packages right-click the Anti-Virus/Administration Tools installation package and choose All tasks > Delete (Computer configuration > Programs configuration > Software Installation).
5. In the dialog window Software Uninstall choose Uninstall the program from all computers now.
6. Apply the changes by running one of the following commands:
- gpupdate/force – for Microsoft Windows Server 2003;
- secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy – for Microsoft Windows Server 2000.
The Anti-Virus will be uninstalled from the required computers after the computers’ restart before Microsoft Windows log on.
VIA KASPERSKY ADMINISTRATION KIT
Only the Anti-Virus can be uninstalled via Kaspersky Administration Kit. In this case the Anti-Virus is uninstalled with the default uninstallation parameters (quarantine and backup objects are deleted as well). Administration Tools cannot be uninstalled via Kaspersky Administration Kit.
When uninstalling the Anti-Virus create either a group or global task of remote uninstall and run this task on the required servers.
