When you are connected to a public or home wireless network that is not secure enough, your personal information could be intercepted by criminals.

Kaspersky Total Security checks the status of Wi-Fi network based on the data from Kaspersky Security Network and some other criteria, for example, whether a vulnerable encryption protocol or a common Wi-Fi network’s name (SSID) are used. Based on this information, Kaspersky Internet Security determines whether or not the network is secure.

By default, notifications about vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi networks are disabled. We recommend enabling this feature if you use wireless networks.

You cannot enable notifications about vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi networks in Kaspersky Internet Security if Kaspersky Secure Connection is installed on your computer. You can enable them via Kaspersky Secure Connection instead.
