To remove third-party software using Microsoft Windows tools, do the following:

• under Windows XP
• under Windows Vista
• under Windows 7
• under Windows 8:

1. On the start screen right-click free space.
2. On the panel that appears at the bottom of the screen click the All apps button.

3. In the Apps list find the necessary software and right-click it.
4. On the pop-up panel click Uninstall.

5. The process of system scan will start. Wait until the process is complete.
6. In the window that will open confirm that you want to remove the product by clicking the Yes button. Wait until the process of uninstallation is complete and restart your computer.
7. After restarting, enable display of hidden files and folders.
8. Find and delete the following folders:
   • If OS Windows XP is installed on your computer:
     • C:\Program Files\ESET
     • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET
     • C:\Documents and Settings\[user_name]\Application Data\ESET
   • If OS Windows Vista/7/8 is installed on your computer:
     • C:\Program Files\ESET
     • C:\ProgramData\ESET

When you uninstall the third-party product from the computer using Microsoft Windows tools, the Program Files folder may contain remains of previous antivirus product versions. If the folder contains folders/files of antivirus applications, delete them.

Try to install your Kaspersky Lab product once again.

Using the ESET Uninstaller may reset your Windows network settings (alternative IP address, default gateway, subnet mask). After you complete work with ESET Uninstaller and restart your computer, you will need to configure network settings. In order to uninstall the ESET security product using ESET Uninstaller, perform the following actions:

1. Download ESET Uninstaller.exe (ESET UNINSTALLER (C) ESET, LLC) and save the utility to the root of Disk C:\. You can find detailed instructions on how to download the file on the following web pages:
   • For users of Windows 8.
   • For users of Windows 7.
   • For users of Windows Vista.
2. Restart your computer and start in Safe Mode.

If you attempt to run the ESET Uninstaller in normal mode, it will fail and create an "ERROR!" message text file on your Desktop.

3. Double-click the ESET Uninstaller icon.
4. Carefully read the warning: "This tool uninstall AV product in non-standard way. Your PC can be harmed seriously, please back up Your data. Please keep in mind that as soon as this application is finished your network connection can be down and you will have to restart your PC. Are you really sure to continue? <y/n>". If you agree to perform the actions type "y" to confirm

5. Next in the command prompt you will see information about the booted system and installed anti-virus application.
6. Enter the sequence number of the anti-virus product to uninstall from the list.
7. On the keyboard press the Enter key.
8. After the following question appears: "Are you sure to uninstall ESS/EAV/EMSX from this OS?” you will see the information about your OS, type "y" (without inverted commas) in the question line to confirm. 

9. The uninstallation will take about 1 minute. After the process completes, the utility will be automatically closed.
10. Restart your computer in normal mode.

Try to reinstall the Kaspersky Lab product. If during the installation process, the Setup Wizard will again inform you that ESET software incompatible with Kaspersky Lab applications is detected, perform the following actions:

1. Install the ESET antivirus software.
2. Uninstall the application by Windows standard tools.
3. Install the Kaspersky Lab product.

If the remains of the earlier installed anti-virus software are deleted, or any other anti-virus software was not installed earlier, but you still failed to install your Kaspersky Lab product, then send a request to Technical Support via the My Kaspersky Account service. To your request attach report of the Getsysteminfo tool. In the request do not forget to describe the problem and actions which are required to be performed to reproduce the problem in all details.
