Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010

Sometimes with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) enabled in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010, secure connection may not be checked in Internet browsers Opera and Mozilla Firefox. Most probably Kaspersky Lab’s certificate has not been installed for the browsers. You can install Kaspersky Lab certificate to check SSL manually:

  • Open the main application window
  • Click the Settings button
  • Select Network
  • Click the button Install certificate in the right part of the window
  • In the Certificate window go to the Details tab
  • Click the button Copy to file
  • Click Next
  • Select export file format DER encoded binary X.509 (.CER)
  • Click NextBrowse
  • Select the folder into which you would like to save the certificate file
  • Enter the file name
  • Click the Save button
  • Click Finish
  • Click OK
  • Minimize the main application window

If Mozilla Firefox is installed, do the following:

  • Open the main browser window
  • Select ToolsOptions
  • Click the Advanced icon
  • Go to the Encryption tab
  • Click the View certificates button
  • Go to the Authorities tab
  • Click the Import button
  • Select the folder into which you have previously saved Kaspersky Lab’s certificate to check SSL connections
  • Select the certificate
  • Click Open
  • In the Downloading Certificate window select the purposes which you trust the certificate should perform
  • Click OK to close each window
  • Minimize the browser window

If Opera is installed, do the following:

  • Open the main browser window
  • Select ToolsPreferences
  • Go to the Advanced tab
  • Select the Security menu
  • Click the Manage certificates button
  • Go to the Authorities tab
  • Click the Import button
  • Select the folder into which you have previously saved Kaspersky Lab’s certificate to check SSL connections
  • Select the certificate
  • Click OpenInstall
  • Click OK to close each window
  • Minimize the browser window

Information Sometimes the warning box for the Kaspersky Lab’s certificate should be cleared in the Opera settings in order secured connections are scanned correctly in the Opera browser.
