How can I relocate Administration Server shared folder?

There is a shared folder used by Administration Server for storing antivirus databases and patches for client applications downloaded by the Download updates to repository task, as well as installation packages. This folder is configured during Sever installation. By default, it is subfolder Share in Administration Server installation folder (C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit). Still an administrator can relocate this folder for any other local/network folder.

This can be done the following way:

  1. Create a networked folder which will be used as a new repository for databases and packages. 
  2. Assign permissions for this folder to appropriate user accounts.
  3. Open Administration Server properties, tab General.
  4. Click Advanced, then Modify and specify the new folder path.



The entire old repository content will be copied into the new folder. From this point your logical network will start using the new folder as the Repository.
