December 14, 2009: Kaspersky Lab announces the release of Autopatch A for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4 versions 6.0.4.1212 and 6.0.4.1217.

Autopatch A fixes the error causing third-party software to slow down after installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4

Autopatch A will be automatically downloaded and applied after executing an antivirus database and application module update task.


InformationIt is necessary to reboot the computer after installing Autopatch A!


If you have Kaspersky Administration Kit implemented in the network

  • In order to automatically install Autopatch A on client computers, make sure that the option(s) Update application modules is checked in properties of the group task Update – Windows Workstations tab Properties.
    • Open Administration Console;
    • go to the node Managed computers > Group tasks;
    • right-click the task Update – Windows Workstations and select Properties;
    • open the tab Properties and make sure that the option(s) Update application modules is checked.



  • After installing Autopatch A, make sure that Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4 version number has changed to 6.0.4.1212 (a) on client computers with installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4.

    • Open Administration Console;
    • go to the node Reports and notifications;
    • right-click the Kaspersky Lab software version report and select Properties;
    • go to the tab Details fields, click Add, select Updates installed in the drop-menu above, and click OK to apply changes (The field Updates installed is not in the report by default).
    • click Apply, then OK.
    • Now view the report Kaspersky Lab software version.

If you do not have Kaspersky Administration Kit implemented in the network

  • In order to automatically install Autopatch A on a computer, make sure that the option Update application modules is checked in the Update task properties.

    • open Kaspersky Anti-Virus;
    • go to Settings  Update;
    • check the box Update application modules. It is checked by default.
    • click Apply, then OK.

  • After installing Autopatch A, make sure that:

    • There is a file fssync.dll in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4 installation folder: Disk:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4.
    • File fssync.dll (KLIF driver library) version has changed to 6.0.5.1403.
