Thus, it is very important to remove
F-Secure before installation of
Kaspersky PURE / Kaspersky PURE R2.
Before the files are copied onto a hard disk the
Setup Wizard scans the disk for software incompatible with
Kaspersky Lab applications. Records in the system registry are recognized by the
Setup Wizard as fully installed
F-Secure software, even though the product was removed and is no longer installed on the PC. As a result
Kaspersky PURE Setup Wizard asks to delete the detected incompatible software manually and terminates the installation process.
How to uninstall F-Secure software using standard Microsoft Windows tools?
- in the bottom left corner click the Start button
- perform the following actions:
- for Windows XP:
- select the Control Panel item

- for Windows Vista and Windows 7:
- select the Control Panel item

- in the Control Panel window click Programs

- in the Programs window select Programs and components

- in the list of programs select the F-Secure anti-virus
- perform the following actions:
- for Windows XP:
- click the button Change/Remove (if you are offered to remove some common files click the button Yes, for all)
- for Windows Vista and Windows 7:
- double-click the application name
- in the Programs and Features window click the Yes button
- in the Setup Wizard, select the Delete all option
- in the Setup Wizard, click the Start button. Wait until F-Secure is uninstalled
- if the uninstallation process is successfully completed, you will be asked to restart your computer
- in the Setup Wizard, select the option Restart now (recommended)
- click the Done button
Try to install Kaspersky PURE / Kaspersky PURE R2 once again.
As a result F-Secure anti-virus will be removed from your computer. If F-Secure anti-virus has been successfully removed from your computer you do not need to perform the following steps. If an error message informs that F-Secure anti-virus removal was unsuccessful you will have to delete F-Secure anti-virus manually.
Special utility Uninstallation Tool.exe to uninstall F-Secure software
In order to remove F-Secure software, you can use a special utility Uninstallation Tool.exe (UNINSTALLATION TOOL (C) F-Secure Corporation. Distributed under the terms of the F-Secure License Terms).
In order to manually remove the software, use the uninstallation tool

In order to remove the software, perform the following actions:
- download the Uninstallation Tool.exe file. The uninstallation tool does not delete F-Secure products installed in the folders С:\Windows, С:\Documents and Settings, C:\Program Files
- carefully read the readme.txt file before running the uninstallation tool

- run the UninstallationTool.exe file by double-clicking it
- in the F-Secure Uninstallation Tool 3.0 - InstallShield Wizard window select I accept the terms in the license agreement
- click the Next button
- wait until the process is completed

- this will clear the directory in which the F-Secure's software was installed. After the uninstallation process your computer will be restarted.
Try to install Kaspersky PURE / Kaspersky PURE R2 once again.
If all remains of your previous anti-virus software were removed, or you have not had any anti-virus software installed on your computer, but you cannot install Kaspersky PURE / Kaspersky PURE R2, then create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via the My Kaspersky Account service. Attach to your request a report created using Getsysteminfo.
In the request, do not forget to describe the problem and actions which are required to be performed to reproduce the problem in all details.
