How to start/stop Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 via Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0

By default, the option to start/stop Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstation/Server MP4 is disabled in Administration Server console in Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0. Yet it can be enabled via Windows registry.
  1. Enabling the application start/stop function

    Please do the following on the computer with installed Administration Server console:

    • Start the registry editor (go to Start > Run, type in regedit and press Enter).
    • Go to the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KasperskyLab\Components\34.
    • Create a key Showtask (Edit > New > Key)
    • Open the key Showtask and create a DWORD value named SHOW_KLNAG_TASK_START_STOP_APP (Edit > New > DWORD value).
    • Edit DWORD value properties:

      0 – task disabled.
      1 – task enabled.

      InformationNo Administration Server reboot is needed after adding and modifying a DWORD value.

  2. Configuring the application start/stop function in the Administration Server console
  • Start the Administration console and open the node Tasks for specific computers.
  • Click Create a new task in the right panel to start the New Task Wizard.

  • In the New Task Wizard select the task type Advanced > Start/stop Kaspersky Lab's products on remote computer.
  • Select the desired application(s) and choose the command Start application or Stop application for them.

  • Select an administration group for the start/stop Kaspersky Anti-Virus task.
  • Schedule the task start-up.
