Applies to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010

Once Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 is installed there may appear situations when the OS functions unstable. For example, at computer or task start there appear error messages informing about errors in the OS work. In this case most probably there the program conflicts with any software installed on your computer or with drivers of your computer. If an error occurs during a task performance in this case you should get trace files of the application components:

  • Open the main application window
  • Click the Support link in the down left part of the window
  • Click Support tools in the down left part of the Support window
  • In the Traces section select the trace level:
    • critical (100)
    • high (200)
    • diagnostic (300)
    • important (400)
    • normal (500)
    • low (600)

Warning Technical Support expert should advise you which trace level to configure. IF the trace level has not been specified, it is recommended to set the level to Normal (500).

  • Click the Enable button
  • Reproduce the problem
  • Click the Disable button

WarningIf a component (or its subsystem) that caused the failure is identified, then before tracing it is recommended to disable all components of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 except the problem one (for example, if the Web Ani-Virus component works incorretly, disable all components except Web Anti-Virus).

  • Close all windows

For example:

  • KAV.9.0.0.459b_09.24_16.21_596.SRV.log.
  • KAV.9.0.0.459b_09.24_16.21_596.GUI.log.

InformationIn some cases, Kaspersky Lab Technical Support specialists may ask to generate the *HST.log file (for example, KAV.9.0.0.459b_09.24_16.21_596.HST.log). Instructions on how to generate the file will be provided by Kaspersky Lab Technical Support specialists.
