Applies to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers

A license violator can download antivirus databases from Kaspersky Lab website and copy them into the folder where Kaspersky Anti-Virus keeps its antivirus databases, but they will be rejected by the application. Each antivirus database has a unique digital signature verified by Kaspersky Anti-Virus when updating. Kaspersky Anti-Virus will not use a database:

  • if its digital signature does not correspond to the signature assigned by Kaspersky Lab;
  • if your license has already expired, and the antivirus database has been released after your license expiry date.
