features an algorithm allowing to improve its performance by estimating file threat level on the basis of its last modification date. File last modification date is compared against its first scan date, creation date, and antivirus databases release date. It considers scanning performed by any Kaspersky Anti-Virus task, Real-time protection or an on-demand-scan task.
If a file has been changed, this algorithm will not be applied to it until it has been scanned by Anti-Virus twice.
This algorithm is enabled for each task individually via the option Scan only new and changed files
in Kaspersky Administration Kit task settings. By default it is enabled only for Real-time file protection
If you uncheck the box Scan only new and changed files
, you will be able to enable this algorithm for each type of Compound objects
If the box Scan only new and changed files
is checked, the algorithm is applied to all types of compound objects marked for scanning.
This algorithm does not apply to objects inside compound files.
Objects unscanned by this Kaspersky Anti-Virus algorithm are registered in the task report equally for both task types – it will state that the object is not infected since it has not been modified.
