
To update Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac from a local folder you will need one more computer with the Internet access and with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac installed on it; version of the installed products should coincide. In
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac the function of
update distribution is implemented.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac can save updates of threat signatures and program modules to a local source (disc folder, network resource). To update threat signatures or program modules from a local folder and to distribute these updates on computer(s) in the local network at least one computer with the Internet access is required. If several copies of
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac are installed in the local network then each copy can be configured to distribute updates in the local network. To configure the product update from a local folder, perform the following actions:
- configure one computer to update from the Internet from the Kaspersky Lab's servers
- on this computer create the folder to store the update files and share this folder.
Next configure the databases to be copied to a local folder on a computer with the Internet access:
- Open the main application window.
- in the left upper corner click the Preferences button.
- In the Preferences window go to the Update tab
- On the Update tab in the Update section click the Preferences button.
- Go to the Additional tab
- Check the Copy updates to folder box and click the Select button.
- In the Select folder window select the folder and click the Open button.
- Click the OK button and close the Preferences window.

- Run the update task.
To update computer(s) in the local network, share the update folder or copy the update folder on target computers. But first configure each target computer with
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac installed the following way:
- Open the main application window
- In the left upper corner click the Preferences button.

- In the Preferences window go to the Update tab.
- On the Update tab in the Update section click the Preferences button.

- On the Update source tab click the button with the "+" sign to add the update folder
- In the drop-down menu select:
- The Path item to select a local or a network folder into which the databases and the application modules were saved earlier. In the Enter update source window find the necessary folder and click the Open button.
- The URL item to enter the address of HTTP- or FTP-server. In the Enter update source window in the URL address field specify the path of the update source and click the OK button.

- On the Update source tab uncheck Kaspersky Lab’s update servers
- Click the OK button and close the Preferences window.
- Run the update task.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac can now update from a local folder.
