How secure connections are checked by Kaspersky PURE R2 in Opera?

The Internet browser Opera does not use Microsoft Windows certificate stores. Therefore in order to check SSL-connections when using Opera you should manually install Kaspersky Lab’s certificate.

In order to install Kaspersky Lab’s certificate for Opera, perform the following actions:

Step 1. Save the Kaspersky Lab certificate on the computer

  1. Open the main application window
  2. In the right upper corner of the main application window, click Settings.
  3. In the Settings window, on the Advanced Settings tab select Network.
  4. In the right part of the Settings window click the Install certificate button.
  5. In the Certificate Export Wizard window click the Next button.
  6. Select the format of the certificate file DER encoded binary X.509 (.CER) and click the Next button.
  7. In the Certificate Export Wizard window click the Browse button.
  8. Select the folder where you want to save the certificate file.
  9. In the Save As window in the File name field enter the name and click the Save button.
  10. Click the Next button.
  11. Click the Finish button.
  12. In the Certificate Export Wizard window click the OK button.
  13. In the Certificate window click the OK button.
  14. In the Settings window click the OK button.
  15. Close the main application window.

Step 2. Install the Kaspersky Lab certificate to Opera manually 

  1. Open the main browser window.
  2. At the top left corner of the window click the Opera button and from the menu select Settings > Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window go to the Advanced tab.
  4. In the left part of the window go to the Security section.
  5. In the right part of the window click the Manage Certificates button.
  6. In the Certificate Manager window go to the Authorities tab.
  7. In the right part of the window click the Import button.
  8. In the Certificate Authority window find the Kaspersky Lab certificate.
  9. Click the Open button.
  10. In the Import Certificate window click the Install button.
  11. In the Import Certificate window confirm you trust the authority by clicking the OK button.
  12. In the Import Certificate window click the OK button.
  13. In the Preferences window click the OK button.

Information Sometimes the warning box for the Kaspersky Lab’s certificate should be cleared in the Opera settings in order secured connections are scanned correctly in the Opera browser.

  1. Open the main browser window.
  2. At the top left corner of the window click the Opera button and from the menu select Settings > Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window go to the Advanced tab.
  4. In the left part of the window go to the Security section.
  5. In the right part of the window click the Manage Certificates button.
  6. In the Certificate Manager window go to the Authorities tab.
  7. In the list of certificates select Kaspersky Anti-Virus personal root certificate.
  8. In the right part of the window click the View button.
  9. In the Certificate window clear the Warn me before using this certificate box.
  10. In the Certificate window click the OK button. 

  1. In the Certificate Manager window click the OK button.
