March 25, 2011 Kaspersky Lab announces the commercial release of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Lotus Domino. Full version number is 8.0.0.73.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Lotus Domino protects Domino servers. It protects mail traffic and replications, and scans databases saved on the protected server.

New features in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Lotus Domino:

  • The application can be managed via Lotus Notes client, and a web browser.

    • Windows Internet Explorer 8
    • Mozilla Firefox 3.6
    • Google Chrome.
  • The application can be installed both from the Lotus Notes client and from a web browser.
  • Possibility to administer user privileges on the level of databases and separate documents.
  • Possibility to scan objects in server RAM without saving them on the hard disk.
  • Implementation of a new antivirus kernel allows improved threat detection methods.
  • The range of supported platforms has been broadened.
  • The application interface has been completely redesigned.
  • The set of commands used for managing Kaspersky Anti-Virus via the Domino server console has been extended.
  • Management of the application settings via profiles has been implemented, which provides the option to perform group adjustment of the settings and centralized management of the application installed on several servers.
  • The distributed management scheme has been applied to the security settings of servers being protected.
  • The distributed management scheme has been applied to the logs of events and application operation statistics collected on all servers being protected.


Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Lotus Domino allows performing the following functions:

  • Scan incoming, outgoing and routed emails delivered to the Domino server.
  • Scan documents modified during replications.
  • Notification about outbreaks.
  • Separate access to configuring settings and managing Anti-Virus on the level of servers and profiles.
  • Scan protected Domino server databases on schedule and on demand.
  • Filtering email objects, replicas and databases by size and name mask.
  • Processing the objects detected when scanning emails, replicated documents and databases.
  • Notifying message senders and receivers, as well as administrators, of infected, potentially infected, and unknown objects detected in messages, and of actions taken on them.
  • Notifying administrators of objects detected when scanning replicated documents, and documents of databases, and of actions taken on them.
  • Saving information about detection of infected, potentially infected, and unknown objects, as well as actions taken on them, in the Events Log and Statistics database or a text file, and displaying the information in the Domino server console.
  • Updating antivirus databases via the Internet, from local and network folders - manually or automatically.
  • Configuring and managing Kaspersky Anti-Virus via the Lotus Notes client, the Domino server console, and a web browser.
