How to change actions to be performed on detected threats in Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer?

Selecting action on detected threat 

If automatic protection mode is enabled, you can check Select action automatically, Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer will automatically apply the action recommended by Kaspersky Lab specialists when dangerous objects are detected.

If an interactive protection mode is enabled, you can select actions to be performed on detected threats. For this in the Action section select one of the options:

• Prompt when the scan is complete. When the scan is over, Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer will notify you of all suspicious and dangerous events in the system, and will prompt either to allow or block an action.
• Prompt on detection. Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer will notify you during the scan of all suspicious and dangerous events in the system Файлового Сервера and will prompt either to allow or block an action.

Interactive and automatic protection modes in Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer

You can configure the action to be performed on detected threats. If you check Disinfect, the application will perform the following actions:

• if the file can be disinfected it will be disinfected and then the file becomes available again.
• if after the analysis the application cannot determine whether the object is infected, the object will be Quarantined. If you check the option to scan the quarantined objects after each databases update, then the file will be disinfected, after the application receives new signatures, and becomes available again.
• if the file is recognized as a virus, but it cannot be disinfected, then the file will be blocked and the results will be logged.

You can select the Delete action, but all files will be deleted even if the file can be disinfected.

Kaspersky Lab specialists recommend to select the following actions to be performed on infected files:

• Disinfect 
• Delete, if disinfection fails

Then the application will perform the following actions:

• if the file can be disinfected it will be disinfected and then the file becomes available again.
• if after the analysis the application cannot determine whether the object is infected, the object will be Quarantined. If you check the option to scan the quarantined objects after each databases update, then the file will be disinfected, after the application receives new signatures, and becomes available again.
• if the file is recognized as a virus, and its disinfection is impossible, the application will delete it. 

How to change an action of full scan on threat detection? 

In order to change the action upon the threat detection, perform the following actions: 

1. Open the main application window.
2. In the left part of the window go to the Scan tab.
3. In the upper right corner of the main window click the Settings link.

    

4. In the left part of the Settings window select Full Scan.
5. Next perform the following actions:
   • If automatic protection mode is enabled, in the Action on threat detection section select an action on detected threats:
     • Select action automatically 
     • Select action: 
       • Disinfect 
       • Delete (Delete, if disinfection fails)

      

   • If interactive protection mode is enabled, in the Action on threat detection section select an action on detected threats:
     • Prompt when the scan is complete 
     • Prompt on detection 
     • Select action: 
       • Disinfect 
       • Delete (Delete, if disinfection fails) 
6. In the bottom right corner of the window click the OK button.

   

7. Close the main application window.
