If you upgrade your
Windows XP to
Windows Vista with
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 installed on the computer, at the end of the system upgrade the system rolls back to the previous configuration – i.e. to
Windows XP. This problem is connected with the features of the above mentioned OS’s.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 use different drivers for
Windows XP and
Windows Vista and these drivers are incompatible with each other. As a result migration from one OS to another with
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 installed is impossible. In order to migrate from
Windows XP to
Windows Vista, perform the following actions:
- uninstall the currently installed version of the product (do not forget to save your activation code on the drive which will not be formatted during the OS reinstall).
- run installation of Windows Vista
- after successful migration to another OS download the latest version of the product from the official site: http://www.kaspersky.com/kav_latest_versions
- run the downloaded file
- install the latest product version
- restart your computer.
