How to open the Upgrade window
In order to open the Upgrade window, perform the following actions:
- Open the main application window.
- Click on the up-arrow button to open the main window components window.
- Click on the Upgrade button.
- In the Upgrade window, you can view the list of additional components which are included to Kaspersky Internet Security 2012:
From the Upgrade window you can:
- Activate a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Trial version is valid for 30 days.
- Activate a commercial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. To activate a commercial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, you are required to have a commercial activation code for Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 / 2010 / 2011 / 2012 which was purcahsed via E-Store or from Kaspersky Lab partners.
- Purchase a commercial activation code for Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. For example, if the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 expired.

How to upgrade to trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
In order to activate a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 from Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012, perform the following actions:
- On the Upgrade window, click on the Trial version button.
- Wait until connection to the server is complete.
- Carefully read data stated in the Migration wizard window and click on the Next button.
- Wait until the process is complete. To complete migration, it is required to restart the application. To do this, click on the Finish button.
- Wait until the application starts. Informational window of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 appears. In order to go to the main application window, click on the Close button.
Migration to the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 is complete.

How to upgrade to commercial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
In order to migrate to a commercial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, you are required to have a commercial activation code for Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 / 2010 / 2011 / 2012 purchased via E-Store or from Kaspersky Lab partners. It is impossible to migrate to Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 using an activation code for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012!
In order to activate a commercial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, perform the following actions:
- On the Upgrade window, click on the Enter activation code button.
- On the activation wizard window, enter your activation code (in format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and click on the Next button.
- Wait until the activation code check is complete.
- Carefully read data stated in the Migration Wizard window and click on the Next button.
- Wait until the process is complete. To complete migration, it is required to restart the application. To do this, click on the Finish button.
- Wait until the application starts.
- Make sure that the migration process completes successfully by opening the main application window of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012.

How to purchase commercial version of Kaspersky Internet Security
In order to purchase a commercial activation code for Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, perform the following actions:
- On the Upgrade window, click on the Buy activation code button.
- The License Renewal & Upgrade Center web page opens in your default Internet browser.
- In the Upgrade to better protection section, from the drop-down menus select the required number of computers (1, 3, 5 or 10 PCs) and validity period (1 or 2 years) for the license. Click on the Buy Now button.
- Follow instructions to complete the order.
- Once you receive the activation code, activate Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 via the Upgrade window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012.
When you migrate from Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 to Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, remaining days of license validity period for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 will not be added to the new license for Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. License expiry date of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 remains the same. You can use your activation code for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 to activate another copy of the application on another computer.
