Quarantine is a special storage area that holds objects potentially infected with viruses.
Potentially infected objects are objects that are suspected of being infected by viruses or modifications of them.
Objects stored in Quarantine do not represent a threat to your computer.
Quarantine in Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 enables the following actions:
By default in Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 a scan of Quarantine after every database update is enabled. You can disable the Quarantine rescan.
Restore files to the original folders in which they were located before being moved to Quarantine;
Delete files from Quarantine;
Send files located in Quarantine to be studied by Kaspersky Lab.
