Sometimes Kaspersky Lab technical specialists may request that you send a screenshot of an error message or Kaspersky Anti-Virus configuration to help in troubleshooting.

How to make a screenshot using Paint (© Microsoft Corporation):

  • Reproduce the required situation on the display.
  • Press the PrtScr (Print Screen) key to copy the image to the clipboard.
  • Start Paint:

    • for Windows XP / Windows Server 2003: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint.
    • for Windows 8 / Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 (R2): Start > type mspaint command in the Search programs and files field > and press Enter.
  • Open the Edit menu in Paint, and select Paste (in Windows XP / Server 2003 / Server 2008) or click the Paste button in the Home tab (in Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8).
  • Save the image as a PNG or JPG file.
  • Attach the screenshot to the Technical Support request along with a detailed description of the issue.

MS Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8 allows using the Snipping Tool (© Microsoft Corporation) to capture screenshots. You can read more about the Snipping Tool at the official Microsoft Technical Support web site:
