In Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 the user can password-protect the application’s settings from changes.

If you have forgotten/lost the password, you still can manage the settings and functionality of a Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. To disable password-protection, do the following: 

  1. download the archive passoff2012.zip 
  2. unpack all files from the archive passoff2012.zip 
  3. restart your computer in Safe mode 
  4. from the archive run the file: 
    • x86.reg – if 32bit OS is installed 
    • x64.reg –if 64-bit OS is installed
  5. in the Registry Editor window click Yes

  6. make sure the information from the registry key has been successfully added to the system registry 

  7. reboot your computer.
