How to enable / disable Kaspersky Security Network in Kaspersky Internet Security 2012?

Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) is designed to speed up reaction to recent threats and enhance performance of some protection components. When you participate in Kaspersky Security Network, extended statistics on loaded and executed applications are automatically sent to Kaspersky Lab. Therefore, it allows to provide up-to-date information on files' security, web resources and software.

You can enable or disable the Kaspersky Security Network service using one of the following methods:

• during installation of the product
• from the Settings window
• from the main application window (only enabling is available)

How to enable / disable KSN during installation

You can agree or disagree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network during the application installation. In order to do this, perform the following actions:

1. Run installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012:
   • Standard installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
   • Custom installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
2. Follow instructions of the Setup Wizard.
3. In the window suggesting to participate in Kaspersky Security Network perform the following actionds:
   1. Read carefully the agreement.
   2. If you agree with all the statements of the agreement, check the box I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network.
   3. If you do not agree with any statement of the agreement, uncheck the box I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network.
4. Click on the Install button. Installation will be continued.

How to enable / disable KSN from the Settings window

In order to enable or disable participating in the Kaspersky Security Netowrk service from the Settings window, perform the following actions:

1. Open the main application window.
2. On the upper right hand part of the window, click on the Settings button.
3. On the upper left had part of the Settings window, select Additional Settings
4. On the left hand part of the Settings window, select Feedback.
5. On the right hand part of the Settings window, perform one of the following actions:
   • If you wish to enable the service, check the box I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network.
   • If you wish to disable the service, uncheck the box I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network.
6. On the Settings window, click on the OK button.
7. Close the main application window.

How to enable KSN from the main application window

In order to enable Kaspersky Security Network from the main application window, perform the following actions:

1. Open the main application window.
2. On the upper part of the window, click on the Cloud protection button.
3. In the Access to Kaspersky Security Network is disabled section, click on the Participate in Kaspersky Security Network button.
4. On the Settings window, check the box I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network.
5. click on the OK button in the Settings window.
6. On the open dialog window, confirm that you wish to participate in KSN by clicking on the Yes button.
7. Close the main application window.
