Keeping the application updated is a prerequisite for reliably protecting your computer. Therefore their timely updating is an essential part in the maintenance of reliable protection.
In Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 the update task can be launched using one of the following modes:
- Automatically. Kaspersky Anti-Virus checks the update source for updates at specified intervals. Scanning frequency can be increased during anti-virus outbreaks and decreased when there are none. Having discovered new updates, the program downloads and installs them on the computer.
- By schedule (time interval changes depending on settings). Updates will run automatically according to the schedule created.
- Manually. If you select this option, you will run Kaspersky Anti-Virus updates on your own.
If an update was skipped for any reason (for example, the computer was not on at that time), you can configure the task to start automatically as soon as it becomes possible. To do this, check the Run skipped tasks box in the lower part of the window.
In order to configure the update task, perform the following actions:
- Open the main application window
- Click Settings in the right upper part of the main application window
- On the upper left hand part of the window, select Update
- Click on the Run mode button
- On the Update window in the Run mode tab, select the update task startup mode in the Schedule section.
- Automatically
- Manually
- By schedule. If the By schedule option is selected, create the schedule.
- Click the OK button
- Click OK in the Settings window
- Close the main application window.
