Applies to:
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows (for Workstations)
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows (for File Servers)

Commercial version

When a commercial license key / activation code expires, all Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows components keep running except the antivirus database update task. You can still use all scan tasks and protection components, but these will use only the antivirus databases released before the license expiry.

Information Kaspersky Lab does not guaranty a 100% protection against the new malware emerging after the license expiry.

An attempt to download and add antivirus databases manually will cause the application to stop functioning at all.

We recommend adding a reserve key file before your active license expires to maintain maximum protection on your computer.

Trial version

When a trial license key / activation code expires, all Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows components stop functioning.

Beta version

Beta key files / activation codes life cycle is limited to the beta testing program length.
When a beta license key / activation code expires, the beta version retains full functionality except the antivirus database update task which can no longer be run neither manually nor automatically.
