The Password Manager interface includes the following:

Notification area icon

Immediately after launching Password Manager, the red module icon will appear in the Microsoft Windows taskbar notification area. After authorization (or after completing settings configuration at first module start) the icon will change its color to green.

Depending on the situation, the Password Manager icon will take the following forms:

  • green - Password Manager is unlocked, access to your personal data is not locked
  • red - Password Manager is locked, your personal data is inaccessible. To unlock the application enter your Master Password.

Context menu of Password Manager

Using the Password Manager icon located in the taskbar notification area you can open the context menu. In order to open the context menu, right-click the Password Manager icon.

Password Manager window

The main Password Manager window can be opened from the main application window of Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer (by clicking on the Password Manager in the Tools section). From the main Password Manager window, you can:

  • open the password database
  • open the settings window
  • add a new account or identity
  • create a portable version of Password Manager
  • launch Password Generator
  • view the list of recent accounts.

Module settings window

The functional module settings window is accessible from the main window ofPassword Manager or via the context menu of Password Manager.

In the settings window, you can find the list of module functions and options for the selected function.

Password database window

You can open the password database window from the context menu or via the main window of Password Manager. The password database contain all your account for web sites and applications, identities and secure memos.

Password Manager pointer

The Pointer allows selecting an application/web resource where you wish to enter your personal data.

Move the mouse cursor on the application icon, and wait a few seconds, Password Manager pointer will be located above the module icon.

Password Manager will automatically detect the required action to be performed  with the selected application/web resource (creating a new account or filling in authorization forms).

Caption Button

On the right upper corner of your Internet browser the Caption Button is located. The Caption Button enables you to work with your personal data from the browser's window. The Caption Button is active if Password Manager is unlocked. The Caption Button will be fully functional if the Password Manager plug-in is installed in your browser.

Using the Caption Button from the browser you can do the following:

  • Add account
  • Edit the activated account
  • View the list of Web accounts and open one of them. The number of accounts is specified in brackets
  • View the list of Identities and select an Identity for the registration form.
  • Switch to online help.
