On 29 November 2011 Kaspersky Lab announced the release of patch A for Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows version 8.1.0.646.

Changelog

Fixed:

  • The context menu of tasks on the Protection and Control tab of the main application window shows a padlock icon if the Kaspersky Security Center policy blocks tasks from being started / stopped.
  • Menu items for starting / stopping tasks become unavailable only for those tasks whose status changing is blocked by the Kaspersky Security Center policy.
  • An error involving incorrect opening of the %ProgramFiles% environment variable under 64-bit operating systems has been fixed in the local interface of the application.
  • We have fixed the way Kaspersky Endpoint Security reports display information about vulnerabilities of Microsoft products.
  • Fixed the error involving the status of protection and control tasks when the Kaspersky Security Center policy is applied: under certain conditions the tasks did not run when a policy with such tasks enabled in its settings was applied.
  • Fixed the error with trusted applications detected as untrusted.
  • Fixed the error involving the operation of the Cancel button in the Pause Protection window: clicking the Cancel button in the Pause Protection window did not cancel the paused status of protection components.
  • Fixed the error involving the way the rules were displayed in the settings window of the Firewall component in the local interface of the application.
  • Fixed the error involving the incorrect display of the message prompting a system reboot on the Protection and Control tab of the main application window.
  • Fixed the error that called up a window requesting a user to enter the username and the password when a proxy server was used during communication with KSN.
  • We have removed redundant categories in the web access rule settings window in the local interface of the application.
  • Fixed the error involving the operation of the Device Control component: it was possible to delete all access schedules in device access rules, including the default schedule, after which Device Control could not start.
  • Fixed errors in the operation of the System Recovery Wizard during the Advanced Disinfection process.

Improved:

  • The Application Activity Monitor window takes less time to close.
  • The main window of the application takes less time to open.
