The number of Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Linux Mail Server scan threads is the number of simultaneously running application scan processes. The higher number of scan threads the application is allowed to run, the faster it scans the mail, and the higher is the CPU load.

If you are using the smtp proxy integration type, this value corresponds to the threads value in klms_filters.conf (number of simultaneous connections). You can reach the optimum performance by setting equal value for both parameters, or making threads larger by 1-2 points than scanThreads.

How to adjust the number of scan threads:

In console interface:

  1. Use the following command to export the ScanLogic task settings to a file:
    # /opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --get-settings 3 -f <file_name>

  2. Open the file in an editor, and set the number of scan threads in the <scanThreads> section (8 by default).

  3. Save the file use the following command to import it into the application:
    # /opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control -set-settings 3 -f <file_name>

In web interface:

  1. Proceed to the Settings > Others tab
  2. Click the Number of scanning threads parameter, and set desired number:
