Before installing Kaspersky Security Center, make sure hardware and software of your computer meets the requirements for Administration Server and Administration Console.
Kaspersky Security Center stores information in a SQL server database. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition is installed by default during the installation of Kaspersky Security Center, but you can use other
SQL servers to store the information as well. They must be installed on your computer before the installation of Kaspersky Security Center.
To install Kaspersky Security Center, you must have Administrator permissions on the computer on which you are installing the product. If you plan on using a different user account as a default account for running the services of Kaspersky Security Center, you must add it to the KLAdmins group after installing the product.
To be able to use all the features of Kaspersky Security Center 10, make sure the following ports are open on the hosts:
Computer hosting the Administration Server
Required for connection to the web server, which allows managing Kaspersky Security Center Web Console and organizing the internal company portal.
Required for connection to the web server, which allows managing the work of Kaspersky Security Center Web Console and organizing the internal company portal. The connections are encrypted.
Required for reporting on computers' shutdown.
Required for connecting to the KSN proxy server.
Required for the SSL connection between the Administration Console and the Administration Server.
Required for connecting mobile devices.
Required for secure SSL connection to the activation proxy server.
Required for connection to the activation proxy server when activating mobile hosts.
Used by Administration Server for receiving data from the Cisco® NAC authentication server.
Computer serving as an Update Agent
Used by client computers for connecting to the Update Agent.
Used by client computers for connecting to the Update Agent (if a computer with Administration Server installed serves as the Update Agent).
Used by client computers for connection to the Update Agent.
Client computer with the Network Agent installed
Used by the Wake On Lan feature.
Used on a PXE server host when operating system images are deployed.
Used for receiving a request for connection to the Administration Server, which allows receiving the information about the computer in the real-time mode.
Required for connection with the Update Agent.
For outgoing connections from client computers to the Administration Server and Update Agents, the following port range is used: 1024–5000 (TCP). In Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 the default outgoing port range is 49152–65535 (TCP).
