With regard to the Systems Management term, Kaspersky Security Center 10 has the following possibilities:
  • Software monitoring: Network Agent collects the information about all applications installed on client computers and transfers these data to the Administration Server.
  • Hardware monitoring: Network Agent collects the information about all devices – even mobile ones – connected to the network.
  • License management: Kaspersky Security Center 10 can monitor usage of third-party software on the basis of the set licensing conditions.
  • Application vulnerabilities: using database of software vulnerabilities Kaspersky Security Center 10 with the help of Network Agent can collect the information about vulnerabilities in the application and automatically fix them.
  • Updates management: Kaspersky Security Center 10 allows to manage security updates for Windows operating systems using data from the Windows Update servers. Updates for any application can be installed either using the "Kaspersky Lab" applications database or manually.
  • Installation of third-party applications: using the database of third-party applications Kaspersky Security Center 10 allows to automatically create an installation package for the selected application.
  • Network Access Control (NAC): allows to restrict network access to the devices that do not correspond to the company security policy.
  • Deploying OS images: using free Microsoft tools, Kaspersky Security Center 10 can create images of the operating systems and apply them on other computers in the network.

Once the System Management functionality is enabled, the following changes appear in the Administration Console:

  • A new node Licensed application group management appears in the Application and vulnerabilities container. This node refers to the License management functionality.
  • A new node Deploying computer images appears in the Remote installation menu. This node refers to the Deploying OS images functionality.
  • A new node Hardware appears in the Repositories container. This node will display the information about all devices detected in the network.
  • A new section Network Access Control (NAC) appears in the policy properties for Network Agent and in the Administration Agent properties on a client host. In this section you can configure working mode of the NAC component and specify network access rules.
  • Additional features appear in the New package wizard, New task wizard and in the properties of some nodes.
