An activation code is a unique set of characters that comes in 4 blocks of 5, separated by a hyphen (-). Each block comprises of 5 characters which can be a combination of letters and numbers, which comes to a total of 20 characters (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX).
Activation codes are created for each Kaspersky Lab product separately according to Migration Policy.
The activation code for all box versions or products bought from retail stores can be found printed on the CD sleeve. European box products will have the code on the Quick Start Guide which is included in the box.
If you have purchased a DVD-box version of Kaspersky PURE 3.0, the activation code can be found printed on the first page of the user manual.
If you have purchased Kaspersky PURE 3.0 via E-Store, the activation code will be sent to you via e-mail you have specified when making the order.
If you have installed Kaspersky PURE 3.0, but you do not have an activation code to activate the application, then you can purchase a license in the E-Store.
In Kaspersky PURE 3.0 you can add a new activation code besides an active license.
When a few days remain until your license expires you can renew your license for Kaspersky PURE 3.0 and add a new activation code to the application as a reserved activation code.
Once your license expires, a new activation code will be automatically activated. There will be no disruption of your security.
But if the current license has not expired yet and you click the Activate now button, then the remaining license validity period will be lost.
You can activate Kaspersky PURE 3.0 using the following methods:
If the option Activate trial version is not available, it means the trial version was already installed or is installed now.
Once the product is activated, a license number and not an activation code is displayed in the Licensing window. Remember, that a product can be activated with an activation code, that is why do not lose it and better add it to My Kaspersky.

An unused activation code can be activated at any time, but the license will begin to expire on the day of initial activation. The license validity period is calculated since the first activation (i.e. once an activation code is activated on any of the two computers it was purchased for).
This information does not refer to trial activation codes which go on CD-disks in magazines. Validity period of trial activation codes is restricted.
If an active license for Kaspersky PURE 3.0 has not expired yet, then if you activate a new license, remaining days of your current license will be lost. Thus, you will not be able to use remaining days of your current license on the computer.
If you do not wish to lose remaining days of your current license, you can add a new license as a reserved license. Once your active license expires, reserved license will be activated automatically.

When the commercial activation code expires (this type of code is valid a year or more) Kaspersky PURE 3.0 switches to the mode of limited functionality:
No trial activation code can be added to the product once a commercial activation code was installed. When the trial activation code expires (this type of code is valid a month, not more) Kaspersky PURE 3.0 switches to the following working mode:
You can activate the program with a trial activation code only once, i.e. you cannot use another trial code to prolong the license.
To restore Kaspersky PURE 3.0 functionality once any activation code has expired you need to activate the program with a new valid commercial activation code for Kaspersky PURE 3.0. You do not have to reinstall the program.

can be activated by activation codes purchased in the region where the product will be used.
Activation error 4:1 may appear if you try to activate your application with an activation code in one region (country), but the activation code you use is intended for use in another region (country). For example, you bought Kaspersky PURE 3.0 via E-Store in India, but you try to install and activate the application in the United Kingdom.
In order to eliminate the problem, you need to install and activate your Kaspersky Lab product in the region (country), where you bought the application.
