How to migrate from Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0.4.x and Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows can be installed on top of the following applications:

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations version 6.0.4.1611;
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers version 6.0.4.1611;
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows version 8.1.0.646 and 8.1.0.831.

 Key files for previous versions can be used to activate Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows.

If Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows installer detects one of the mentioned applications installed on a host, it saves the application settings, and uninstalls the application without rebooting the host. Then it installs Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows and imports the saved settings into it. Reboot is required after the installation is complete.

Known issue of remote installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows on top of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows (version 8.0.1.831)

 Objects from Quatantine and Backup are not transferred during the version upgrade.

 

Post installation wizard of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows starts after installing on top of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows. This will be fixed in the next version of the application, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows Critical Fix 1.
