Error when activating a trial version of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows using a trial key file

When installing a trial version of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows the following error may occur at the activation step: "The key file is not compatible with this application. It is impossible to activate Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows by using the key for another application."


To solve the issue, please do the following:

  1. Click Back in the window with an activation error.

  2. Select Activate later at the activation step.

  3. Proceed with the rest of the installation steps for Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows.

  4. When the installation is complete, open Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows.

  5. Start the database update.

  6. Restart the computer.

  7. Upon restart, open Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows again.

  8. Open the application activation window, select Activate with a key file and add the trial key file.
