Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1 Using Kaspersky Administration Kit the administrator can organize Administration servers installed in the network hierarchically.
Administration servers create “master – slave” hierarchy. And each Administration server can have several slave servers to:
- lessen the demand on the Server (in comparison with one installed Server) - each client's computer is connected to “its” Server;
- make the work with remote offices easier – there is no need to have connection between the master Server and each client computer located in other regions. Install an Administration Server in each network segment, connect the Clients to their local Server, and make sure that only a local slave Server can connect to the master Server.
With the hierarchy created a slave Server receives policies and group tasks (except product deployment task) from the master Administration server and updates antivirus databases on the slave Server from the master Server.
Permissions to connect a slave Server and to operate its logical network are defined by permissions to an administration group of the master Server to which this slave Server is connected.
To connect a slave Server user should have permissions for Reading and Writing.
To view the logical network of an already connected slave Server user account should have permission for Reading.
To operate the logical network of an already connected slave Server user account should have permission for Reading and Executing.
