Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1

Complex implementation 

 

  • It is now possible to configure a rule for automatically making UDP Port 15000 an exception in Windows firewall when installing Administration Agent. 

 

  • Added functionality for Administration Server remote installation and update. See details.

This functionality is also available for administration server hierarchy.

  • Added new option to settings for automatic client reboot following a remote installation. This option automatically shuts down running applications for reboot. 

 

 

  • Support for MySQL (builds 5.0.22 and 5.0.32, default charset - UTF8) as the alternative database used by the Administration Server.

 

  • Ability to distribute deployment packages for the entire hierarchy of the administration servers. 

 

  • Ability to create a task of installation and update of the applications for the entire hierarchy of the administration servers (the parameter of the product deployment task Send to slave Servers). 

 

  • Ability to automatically resolve installation of the network agent conflicts resulted from copying of the hard drive image. 

 

  • Ability of preliminary collection of information about anti-virus applications installed on the client computers that are not managed by Kaspersky Administration Kit has been added.

If the Administration Agent is installed on a client computer, then in the External applications report you can see the information about the installed anti-virus application which cannot be managed remotely via Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0. 

  • A task for removing third-party anti-virus products using Kaspersky Network Agent has been implemented. 

 

  • Support for creating deployment packages without accessing the public access folder on the Administration Server. 

 

  • Support for updating network agent installed by MSI installer and Active Directory installation tools using administration server tools. I.e. depending on how the Administration Agent was installed its version can be updated with the help of the product deployment task. 

 

  • Ability to create deployment packages directly from the Kaspersky Lab’s products’ distribution packages. No intermediate steps involving unpacking the distribution package into a temporary folder will be required.

 

Maintenance 

 

  • Ability to mange the following applications remotely has been added: 
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations, 
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers, 
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Novell NetWare. 
  • Added rule automatically to move hosts from domain to administration group (in the properties of the administration group on the Client computers tab). 

 

  • Added rule automatically to move new hosts from Active Directory container to administration group (in the properties of the administration group on the Client computers tab).

 

  • Added capability to start a task on a client when another task exits. 

 

  • Added capability for tasks to be triggered by Virus Outbreak and New Updates Received by Administration Server events. 

 

  • Ability of centralized management of files in the backup storage on the client computers. 

 

  • Node “Backup storage” has been added to the administration console; using this node the administrator can perform centralized administration of all backup storages on the client computers. 

 

  • Ability to create operations for selected groups of computers in the console. 

 

 

  • A special policy type for mobile clients has been added. This policy is automatically activated on the client computer in case of a disconnection from the administration server. See details. 

 

  • Password for removal of the network agent has been implemented 

 

  • Ability for the administrator to launch a corporate network scan on demand has been implemented. Details about the network scan. 

 

  • Ability to disable all types of network scan via the administration console. 

 

  • There is no need now to restart the server after changes have been made to the administration server settings. 

 

  • Ability of creating groups and adding computers to such groups has been added to the Quick Start Wizard. 

 

  • A set of values can be used as a criterion of the real-time protection level in the administration group. 

 

  • In case of a removal of an administration server a suggestion to create a backup copy will be displayed. 

 

  • Ability to delete a non-empty administration group if such group does not include client computers and slave administration servers has been added. 

 

  • Ability to search for computers using computer’s DNS name has been added. Details about computer search.

 

  • Support for intermediate updates distribution centers and deployment packages (Update Agents). 

 

  • Support for IP multicasts for deployment package distribution and application updates. This feature considerably reduces traffic peaks within the corporate network. 

 

  • Computer names conflict resolution using MAC address has been added. 

 

 

 

  • It is possible to create global tasks related to the results of computers search and queries.

 

Monitoring 

 

  • Revised event handling rule configuration interface. 

 

  • Changed report appearance. 

 

  • Extended complement of fields included in reports and added default field sort criteria. 

 

  • Added capability to filter based on report fields. 

 

  • Added four new report types: Application Type Summary Report, Work Station and File Server Protective Application Summary Report,  Mail System Protective Application Summary Report , Perimeter Defense Application Summary Report.

 

  • Added additional filtering capability for task execution results. 

 

  • Reports include the user profile under which the virus infection occurred. 

 

  • Search by multiple event types. 

 

  • A column, indicating whether the network agent and anti-virus application are installed on the computer, has been added to the administration console. 

 

  • Network Agent writes data on current client antivirus protection status to the registry. See details

 

  • Support for notifications for SMTP servers with authentication. 

 

  • Support for multiple sets of columns in MMC and switching between such sets have been implemented. 

 

  • Ability to create computer queries by operation system version has been added. 

 

  • Completion progress (in percent) indicator has been added to group tasks. When viewing the history of a group task the task execution progress in percent will be displayed on each computer.

 

  • Functionality related to sending test messages has been extended. 

 

  • Predefined query that includes all audit events has been added.

 

Updating 

 

  • Added detailed troubleshooting option to Administration Server update download task. 

 

  • Task for automatic update of the slave servers is run after receiving the updates from the main server. See details

 

  • Functionality of the client computers push update has been changed. See details.
