Applies to Kaspersky Lab products for Windows
Sometimes installation of Kaspersky Lab products under Microsoft Windows operating systems may cause Kaspersky Lab products, as well as other applications on your computer crash. If the operating system ‘bluescreens”, you need to send the following information to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support experts:
- Detailed description of the problem.
- GetSystemInfo utility report.
- Full memory dump.
If the OS falls during a task execution, in this case you need to provide:
- trace file of the Kaspersky Lab task component.
- Detailed description of the problem
- GetSystemInfo utility report.
- Dump file created by Dr.Watson program.
To get a dump file from Dr.Watson program, do the following:
Step 1. Go to Start > Run.
Step 2. In the open box enter: drwtsn32 –i.
Step 3. Press OK.

Step 4. Make sure the program is registered – notification about a successful registration of Dr.Watson as a default debugger is displayed.

Step 5. In the bottom right corner of the screen click the Start button.
Step 6. Select Run.
Step 7. In the Run window in the Open field enter: drwtsn32.
Step 8. Click the OK button.

Step 9. In the Dr. Watson settings window make the following changes:
- In the Log File Path section select a folder where the log file is saved, e.g. a drwtsn folder (you can create a folder when selecting it).
- In the Crash Dump section select the same folder where the log file is saved.
- In the Crash Dump Type section select Full.
- Press OK.

- Reproduce the problem once again.
- Make sure that a complete memory dump has been created successfully.
Create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via My Kaspersky Account. You will be able to attach files by two methods:

The created file of complete memory dump can be zipped, to lessen its size. Upload the file to ftp resource of Kaspersky Lab
