Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 SOS MP4
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers MP4You have chosen Kaspersky Event Log as a log to write the information about events to, but the system keeps writing events in the Microsoft Windows general event log.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 MP4 allows to register information about application events in the Microsoft Windows general event log (Application) or a special Kaspersky Anti-Virus event log (Kaspersky Event Log).
In order to set a log to register events in, do the following:
- open Kaspersky Anti-Virus;
- go to Settings > Options > Settings button in the section Appearance;
- check boxes in the column Log corresponding to the events you want to log;
- click on the button Log settings;
- choose either Kaspersky Event Log or Application (Microsoft Windows general event log).
If you choose Kaspersky Event Log, Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 MP4 will have to create this log first before starting to record events in it.
The log will be created when you select this option in Kaspersky Anti-Virus settings for the first time.
After creating a log, the operating system will have to register this log as a new storage for recorded events. This registration process requires some time (might happen immediately, or within some 20 minutes as well).
That is why a situation is possible when you see a part of the events in Microsoft Windows general event log instead of Kaspersky Event Log. Microsoft Windows general event log will contain the events which occurred before the operating system registered the new log.
In order to avoid having a part of the events in a wrong place, we recommend to restart Kaspersky Anti-Virus immediately after changing the log (right-click on Kaspersky Anti-Virus tray icon and choose the option Exit). Restarting the application resolves this possible issue with registering an event log by the operating system.
