Applies to Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0
An application control plug-in is an interface allowing to manage corresponding Kaspersky Lab software via Administration console. The only plug-in included into Administration console distribution package is the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations / Servers plug-in. If you want to manage other software via Kaspersky Administration Kit as well, you will have to install plug-ins for such software manually.
Plug-in version corresponds to its controlled application version (but they mismatch in numbers sometimes) meaning that it is necessary to reinstall the plug-in after updating application version.
Plug-ins are updated automatically when updating software via Kaspersky Administration Kit (when creating an installation package for a new application version). Yet it is sometimes necessary to update a plug-in manually:
- if you are updating its controlled application version manually without using Kaspersky Administration Kit;
- if there is more than one Console in a network, the plug-in will be automatically updated on one Console only (the one used to create an installation package for the new application version). Meaning you will have to manually update it on other Consoles.
In order to manually install / update a plug-in:
- extract an application (Anti-Virus or Agent) distribution package into a folder using an archiver (for example, WinRAR);
- find the file klcfginst.exe inside this folder and run it on every PC with installed Administration console. Plug-in file name is common for all applications. It is necessary to close Console before installing a plug-in.
Plug-ins are usually also available on our Technical Support website in the corresponding antivirus application section:
