After installing SQL Server 2005 Express SP3 (makes part of Administration Kit 8.0):
a folder Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server is created on the system disk for storing all necessary application files;
the following services are added:
SQL Server (KAV_CS_ADMIN_KIT) – its status must be Running, run mode - Auto.
Default SQL server name - KAV_CS_ADMIN_KIT.
This service receives connections on TCP port 1433 and UDP port 1434. These ports are used for remote accessing the SQL server.
SQL Server Active Directory Helper – run mode Disabled is allowed.
SQL Server Browser - run mode Disabled is allowed.
SQL Server VSS Writer - its status must be Running, run mode - Auto.
After installing Administration Server and Console:
a folder Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit is created on the system disk for storing all necessary application files;
subfolders Data and SETTINGS are created in the folder Program Files\Common Files\Kaspersky Lab for storing Network agent settings;
a database is created on the SQL server;
the following services are added:
Kaspersky Lab Administration Server – status must be Running, run mode - Auto (process name is klserver.exe).
For Microsoft Vista, Microsoft 2008 Servers and Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems: if you selected Standard installation type, a special account named KL-AK-* is created. This account will be used to run the service Kaspersky Lab Administration Server.
Kaspersky Lab Network Agent – status must be Running, run mode - Auto (process name is klnagent.exe).
Kaspersky Lab Cisco NAC Posture Validation Server - status must be Running, run mode - Auto (process name is klnacserver.exe). This service is installed only if you have selected to install the component Kaspersky Lab for Cisco NAC Posture Validation Server when installing the Administration server.
Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 SP1, Microsoft Installer 3.1, MSXML 4 are installed if necessary.
Administration console is integrated into Microsoft Management Console. Application control plug-ins are integrated into Administration console.
the following system registry keys are created:
HKLM\Software\KasperskyLab - Administration console settings and some of the Administration server settings.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSAdminServer - Kaspersky Lab Administration Server service startup parameters.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\KLNAgent - Kaspersky Lab Network Agent service startup parameters.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\KLNACServer - Kaspersky Lab Cisco NAC Posture Validation Server service startup parameters.
The following groups are created:
KLAdmins – users having all permissions for logical network management.
KLOperators - users having permissions to view logical network structure, and create reports about the antivirus protection system running on computers belonging to the logical network.
In case of installing on a domain controller, domain groups will be created. In case of installing on a computer not belonging to a domain, local groups will be created. And in case of installing on a computer belonging to a domain, both domain and local groups will be created.
