Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition

Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition can be installed via Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP2 only.

Two installation scenarios are possible: 

• Installation via a remote install task.

This type of installation has 2 steps: 1) a special utility KMS 7.0 EE Installer should be installed onto one computer in the corporate network via a remote install task; 2) when this mobile device is connected to the workstation/ server, the KMS 7.0 EE Installer utility installs Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition directly onto a mobile device. 

Microsoft Active Sync should be installed on the workstation /server to which a mobile device is going to connect; otherwise the utility KMS 7.0 EE Installer will fail to detect a connected mobile device. 

• Installation via SMS.

In this installation type an SMS-message is sent onto a mobile device via Administration Server with the URL of the installation package. When the URL is opened an installation package of Kaspersky Mobile Security is loaded and installation of the application begins.

A GSM-modem connected to the Administration Server and Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 installed on the Administration Server are needed to send an SMS-message.

Irrespective of the installation method, the following should be done prior installation:

1. On the Administration Server open the port for mobile devices.

Open the properties of the Administration Server to which mobile devices are going to connect > the Settings tab > check the box Open port for mobile devices and if necessary change the port. The default port for mobile devices is 13292.

 

 

2. Install Application control plug-in on the Administration Console

On the computer with the installed Administration Console of Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 via which installation is going to be performed and Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition is going to be managed, run the file klcfginst.exe from the distributive of Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition (this file resides in the Plugin subfolder).

As a result Control Plugin for Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition will be embedded into the Administration Console.

3. To provide further interaction of Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition with the Administration Server, create a certificate for the mobile device on the Server.

For this on the computer-Administration Server run the utility klmblcrt.exe from the setup folder of Kaspersky Administration Kit. During the work of the utility specify the address of the Administration Server by which a mobile device will connect with the Server to receive settings and to send statistics.

 Without a certificate mobile devices will not be detected by the Administration Server.

 

Mobile devices running under Symbian OS can connect to the Administration Server only “on the air”. That is why the Administration Server should have an external address which must be defined when creating the certificate for the mobile device.

 

4. Create an installation package for Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition.

In the Administration Console right-click the Remote install node > select New > Installation package. In the New package wizard enter the package name and specify the path to the file kmlisten.kpd the distributive of Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition.

During the package creation settings defined during creation of the certificate for a mobile device will be used as data of the Administration Server.

Never change the address and the port of the Administration Server manually in the installation package. If the defined settings will not correspond with the settings defined during creation of the certificate for a mobile device (see point 3 above), then the mobile device will fail to connect to the Administration Server!

Once created an installation package is physically stored in the Packages subfolder of the shared folder (by default Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Packages\KLMOBILE 7.0.X.XX).

A key file for the application is installed via the policy for Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 Enterprise Edition during synchronization of the device with the Administration Server.
