Sometimes after removal of McAfee anti-virus software and the computer restart some records may still remain in the system registry and prevent a Kaspersky Lab product from installation. It is important to remove all components of McAfee software before the installation of Kaspersky Lab software. In order to fully remove McAfee software and its records from the system registry, select one of the recommendations below:
When uninstalling via Windows standard tools some files and folders of the previously installed antivirus programs may still reside in the system; that is why you are recommended to check the Program Files folder. If the Program Files folder contains any subfolders or files of the antivirus programs installed earlier, you are recommended to remove them. Then, try to install a Kaspersky Lab product once again.
The installation of a Kaspersky Lab product may fail due to incompatibility with McAfee Anti-Virus File System Filter Driver. To eliminate the issue, do the following:
If all remnants of other antivirus software were successfully removed, or you did not have any third-party antivirus software installed on your computer but the issue persists, then create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via the My Kaspersky service. Attach a GetSystemInfo report to your request. In the request, provide a detailed description of the issue and explain how the issue is reproduced.
