Concerning to Kaspersky Hosted Email Security

Working principle of the service is embedding in a chain of delivery of post messages and check of all passing correspondence of the client. Embedding is carried out by change MX of record in DNS.

All incoming mail is scanned by the anti-virus and anti-spam services – assisted by BitHunt (A proactive threat detection technology). These will classify the email accordingly – be it viral, unsolicited (i.e. spam) or genuine. Once classified the mail can be handled in a number of ways, including the ability to quarantine or tag the subject line of the mail prior to delivery.

Further policies can be created and applied around mail content. The only exceptions are “clean” mails which are passed to the client immediately. Mails with other statuses are processed differently:

  • Mail header (service and \or field Subject) can be modified. The client her/himself decides what to do next with the mail.
  • A mail message can be quarantined for 15 days. If necessary any mail message can be restored from quarantine and sent both to the addressee, and the system administrator of your company.
