|
|
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 has received the Gold Performance On-Access Award and the Gold Performance On-Demand Award from the Anti-Malware Test Lab, a highly reputable web portal dedicated to cyber-security research and testing. The Anti-Malware Test Lab carried out a dynamic test of 20 cyber-security solutions from different vendors, including Norton Internet Security 2009, Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, Microsoft Security Essential and various others. The tests were conducted in February 2010 on computers running Windows XP SP3 and followed a custom methodology. The study was aimed at testing anti-virus solutions for system resources consumption and influence on system performance and daily users’ actions. In the tests, there were measured and compared parameters which allow to rate an anti-virus solution performance: operating system boot time, RAM and CPU memory consumption, files copying time (on-access scanner), scan time (on-demand scanner), time required to launch five most popular office applications.
The Kaspersky Lab's product Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 has received two gold awards in the categories: “best on-access scanners” and “best on-demand scanners”.

Retrospective/Proactive Test - "Advanced Plus" from AV Comparatives

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management systems, announces that Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 achieved its best ever malware detection results in the history of AV-Comparatives’ retrospective tests, where 16 of the most popular malware solutions participated.
Retrospective tests rate effectiveness of antivirus solutions while detecting new malware using not up-to-date antivirus databases. In other words, a solution has to withstand threats which it knows nothing about. Such methods of testing are very popular nowadays, because an antivirus solution must protect users' computers even against unknown threats.
Only static methods of detection were tested. It means that such dynamic methods as emulation were not used. Antivirus solutions were evaluated on criteria such as detection levels in scan on demand and the number of false positives.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 showed high level of detection, thereby earning itself AV-Comparatives’ highest accolade, Advanced+. According to the results of the tests the Kaspersky Lab product beats antivirus solutions presented by such verndors as Symantec, McAfee and ESET.
