  • Kaspersky Internet Security 2009
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009
  • Description: Any USB CD/DVD-RW drive used on your computer and connected to the computer after the Rescue Disk Creation Wizard of Kaspersky Lab’s products version 2009 has been started will fail to burn the rescue disk.

Reason: the Rescue Disk Creation Wizard on its first step collects the information about the drives already connected to the computer to burn the CD-disk. Next it creates the image of the disk and selects which drive from the created list to use to burn the CD. If the drive was connected after the first step of the Wizard (when the list of installed drives is already created) or directly before the disk burning, the Wizard will simply not find the device in the list; therefore such device will not be used to burn the disk.

Resolution: Kaspersky Lab’s experts recommend connecting USB CD/DVD-RW drives before start of the Rescue Disk Creation Wizard.
