Concerning to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009

Kaspersky Lab experts have developed a plug-in (an extension module) which allows managing the Anti-Spam module from the interface of Mozilla Thunderbird. However, by default mail messages, recognized as spam in Mozilla Thunderbird, are only marked as [!! Spam] in the body of the message and get into the common folder for all Incoming messages. Additionally the Junk and Not Junk buttons are not placed on the Toolbar.

Below you will find the guidelines how to set the most useful and convenient functions in Mozilla Thunderbird.

Junk and Not Junk buttons in the toolbar:

In order to add the buttons Junk and Not Junk to the Toolbar in Mozilla Thunderbird, do the following: 

  • Open the main application window 
  • Select View > Toolbars > Customise 
  • In the Customise Toolbar window in turn select and drag to the toolbar the buttons Junk and Not Junk 
  • Click OK 
  • Minimize the mail client window

 

How to filter messages marked as [!! Spam]

In order to create a rule to delete all messages marked as [!! Spam], do the following: 

  • Open the main window of the mail client 
  • Select Tools > Message Filters 
  • Click the New button 
  • Enter the filter name in the Filter name field (for example Delete Spam
  • In the Subject contains field enter the [!!Spam] marker 
  • Select the action Delete Message 
  • Click OK 
  • Minimize all windows

 

 

In order to create a rule to move all messages marked as [!!Spam], do the following: 

  • Open the main window of the mail client 
  • Select Tools > Message Filters 
  • Click the New button
  • Enter the filter name in the Filter name field (for example Move Spam
  • In the Subject contains field enter the [!!Spam] marker 
  • Select the action Move message to 
  • Select the folder where messages marked as [!! Spam] should be moved (for example, create a folder named Spam in the mail client) 
  • Click OK 
  • Minimize all windows
