Concerning to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009

The statistics window of the Network package analysis tool in Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 can be divided into 5 parts: 

  • The upper part shows the following statistics fields and buttons: 
    • Source – filtering by an IP-address from which a packet was sent by network (source of a packet) 
    • Destination – filtering by an IP-address where a network packet will be delivered (the final destination of a packet). 
    • Protocol – filtering the protocol by which a network packet has been sent 

 

  • The left part of the window displays the information about a network packet:
    • Time – shows the time and date of a packet interception by Network package analysis 
    • Source – displays an IP-address from which a packet was sent by network (source of a packet); 
    • Destination – displays an IP-address where a network packet was/ will be delivered (final destination of a packet);
    • Protocol – shows the protocol type by which a network packet was/ is transferred. 

 

  • The structure of the packet heading is displayed in the top section of the right-hand part of the window

 

  • The content of the packet in the hexadecimal format and in the ASCII format is displayed in the bottom section of the right-hand part of the window

  • The button to manage the tool are available in the lower part of the window
    • Help - Provides reference how to manage the tool Network package analysis
    • Run – starts packet interception (the button is active if interception was stopped). 
    • Stop – stops packet interception (the button is active if interception was run). 
    • Clear – deletes gathered statistics of all intercepted packets. 
    • Close – closes the open window.
