Concerning to Kaspersky Internet Security (all versions)

The reasons why the Anti-Spam component does not use RBL are given below:

  • RBL is server-oriented
  • The RBL service functions slowly (using DNS-queries)
  • The IP-addresses of the addressee can be correctly checked on the SMTP-server only
  • IP-address of the addressee cannot be detected by personal anti-spam
  • No one is responsible for the information in public RBL
  • RBL is used as the means of a competition
  • Your provider or your recipient network can get into RBL implementation
  • User cannot delete the blocked address from RBL. Most of the RBL services communicate to providers only, but ignore queries of common users.
  • Home user does not have the information which RBL service to trust.
