Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 MP1 (build 7.0.1.325)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 2009
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 MP1 (build 7.0.1.325)
  • During the co-work of Kaspersky Anti-Virus/ Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0/2009 with P2P-client uTorrent the following problems might occurs on your PC:

    • In the Internet-browser pages are loaded correctly in one tab only
    • A web-page cannot be opened in a new tab or window

Reason: this is a feature of Windows. By default Windows OS restricts the number of opened or half-opened connections. This restriction might vary depending on the edition of Windows XP or Vista installed on your PC.

For example, in Windows XP Professional this value equals 10. In P2P-client uTorrent by default the maximum number of opened connections is set to 8. At the same time Kaspersky Lab’s products version 7.0/ 2009 create additional connections necessary for full protection of your PC. Thus the general number of opened connections exceeds that of 10 and leads to unstable computer work in the Internet.

Resolution: to resolve the problem it is recommended to minimize the number of connections opened concurrently in your P2P-client uTorrent (from 8 to 4):

    • Open the program
    • Select Options > Preferences
    • In the list of settings select Advanced
    • In the list of advanced settings find and highlight net.max_halfopen
    • In the Value field change value 8 to
    • Click Set
    • Click OK
    • Minimize the program
